He’s a quiet, isolated man with a particular set of skills who they really, really should have left alone. Yes, The Stath is back, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Last Movie Outpost’s 2nd favorite grumpy bald man has a new action thriller coming out – Shelter.
This opens on January 30th in cinemas.
They should have left him alone
Starting on a remote coastal island somewhere off the UK, a reclusive man named Michael Mason rescues a young girl from a deadly storm. Doing so draws them both into danger. Forced out of isolation, forces from his turbulent past are mobilised against him. He must protect both himself and the girl on a tense journey of survival and redemption.
The rest of the cast is rounded out by Bodhi Rae Breathnach, Naomi Ackie, Harriet Walter, Bronson Webb, and Daniel Mays. Going for the “and” or the “with” credit is Bill Nighy.
It is directed by Greenland and Angel Has Fallen filmmaker Ric Roman Waugh, so that is a big plus for exactly what you need from this bracket of film. The script is by Ward Parry.
The Beekeeper 2 is in the works, and Statham also has the action thriller Mutiny opening in August, in which he plays a private security man framed for murdering his Thai billionaire friend, who they really should have left alone.
As usual, they will all go down like a cold pint of your favorite beer on a warm day.
