No, not the exciting reunion of a denim-wearing Irish girl band from the 1990s. This is another Bewitched. That famous television show.

Fox is going to reboot the ABC sitcom from the 1960s.

This version of Bewitched is tagged as a reimagining… uh-oh…  and this time around episodes will be an hour long.

Writer and Executive Producer Judalina Neira (The Boys, Daisy Jones and the Six) is behind the relaunch.

The official blurb says:

“Though they come from two wildly different worlds – he’s a human, she’s a witch – for Samantha and Darrin, it’s love at first sight. But in order to be together, they’ll have to navigate their disapproving parents, walk a tightrope of cultural clashes, and bridge the divides between their families and worlds.”

The original show premiered in 1964 and ran for over 250 episodes.

Elizabeth Montgomery, Dick York and Dick Sargent starred. The cast even cropped up in a 1965 episode of The Flintstones titled Samantha.

In it, Darrin and Samantha Stephens had just moved into Bedrock. This crossover was facilitated by both series being broadcast on ABC.along with a host of colourful supporting characters.

A 2005 movie reboot starred Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell in a meta comedy about the making of a TV show based on the property.

Famous Last Words Production is producing Bewitched for Sony Television and FOX.
