A new series by Pixar, for Disney, Win or Lose, is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2025. The original script for it had a transgender storyline, but this has been dropped by Disney. They have eliminated “a few lines of dialogue” from an episode that references a character’s gender.
Disney has said:
“…when it comes to animated content for a younger audience, we recognize that many parents would prefer to discuss certain subjects with their children on their own terms and timeline.”
If you read between the lines, I think they are saying they have lost so much money when they try to appeal to the tiny minority, they are now learning their lesson. Take Lightyear for example, the backlash of the same gender parents. Lightyear barely scraped back what it cost to make in the box office.
We’ve spoken about the issues at the House of the Mouse has faced with all of this “woke” nonsense before. The Great Debate the other day was all about if the end of woke is approaching. Is Disney finally learning and changing their ways?
Disney, and Pixar, have had many backlashes again this whole thing. They good ol’ Bob Chapek came under fire over his silence of Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill. The bill banned discussion about the LGBTQ+ community in state schools.
You can watch Win or Lose in the new year on Disney+. It stars Will Forte as the voice of a softball coach. The story revolves around a co-ed softball team that are going to play a big game. Five pounds says the guys make me review it!
