It’s Thanksgiving in the United States today with many on a holiday break and quite a few visiting family. While some are de-stressing, others are going the opposite way.
Actor/producer Vin Diesel is one of those ones having a rough time it seems. In a posting on Instagram, the actor spoke about the uncertain future of the “Fast and Furious” franchise.
Publicly, little progress seems to have been made on the next and supposedly final film in the saga following “Fast X” debuting in cinemas on May 2023 and ending with a cliffhanger that saw the fate of multiple characters up in the air.
In his post, Diesel seems unclear where things are going as he’s getting mixed messages from all sides:
“I got Universal in one ear saying we need ‘Fast X 2’ by March 2026. I have Concast in the other ear saying we need two movies to be the finale. Then the writer on ‘Fast Five’ sent me this image and said we need to see DOM and HOBBS resolve their differences. I just want to get back to real street racing, practical stunts… and a reunion of that beautiful brotherhood. Happy Thanksgiving.”
Back in May, “Fast X” director Louis Leterrier suggested production on the final film would begin in early 2025, and since then multiple writers have had a go at the script which is expected to cut things back following the bloated $340 million budget for “Fast X” which yielded only $715 million at the box-office worldwide. Diesel himself recently wrapped production on “Riddick: Furya”.
