DreamWorks Animation has premiered the teaser trailer for the sequel to 2022’s acclaimed animated comedy “The Bad Guys” ahead of its release next Summer.
In the new film everyone’s favorite felons are back, and this time, they’ve got company. The crackerjack crew of animal outlaws are now-reformed Bad Guys who are trying (very, very hard) to be good.
Instead, they find themselves hijacked into a high-stakes, globe-trotting heist, masterminded by a new team of criminals they never saw coming: The Bad Girls.
Based on the best-selling book series by Aaron Blabey, which has sold over 30 million copies, the original film’s voice cast returns including Sam Rockwell as Mr. Wolf, Marc Maron as Mr. Snake, Craig Robinson as Mr. Shark, Anthony Ramos as Mr. Piranha and Awkwafina as Ms. Tarantula.
Also back are Zazie Beetz as Governor Diane Foxington, Richard Ayoade as Professor Marmalade, Alex Borstein as Commissioner Misty Luggins and Lilly Singh as reporter Tiffany Fluffit.
Joining them will be Danielle Brooks as the snow leopard Kitty Kat who is the Bad Girls leader, Maria Bakalova as Bulgarian wild boar engineer Pigtail, and Natasha Lyonne as the deceptive raven Doom.
Director Pierre Perifel and producer Damon Ross return from the first film while JP Sans co-directs the project and Daniel Pemberton provides the score.
“The Bad Guys 2” opens in cinemas next Summer.
