By A24 have premiered the first trailer for famed music video director Isaiah Saxon’s feature debut, the original fantasy adventure film “The Legend Of Ochi”.
Set in a remote northern village, a young girl named Yuri is raised to never go outside after dark and to fear the reclusive forest creatures known as the ochi.
When a baby ochi is left behind by its pack, she embarks on the adventure of a lifetime to reunite it with its family. Willem Dafoe, Emily Watson, Finn Wolfhard and Helena Zengel star.
Shot in Romania in late 2021, the project is being produced by the Russo brothers’ AGBO production company along with Encyclopedia Pictura, Neighborhood Watch, Year of the Rat, IPR.VC, and Access Entertainment.
The trailer evokes classic adult-minded fantasy films and is set to Kate Bush’s “Hounds Of Love” and the film boasts an original score by composer and Dirty Projectors founder Dave Longstreth.
“The Legend of Ochi” is set to arrive in theaters on February 28th 2025.
