By The Conjuring: Last Rites
Filming has officially begun on the fourth and final “The Conjuring” film in the UK. Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ben Hardy and Mia Tomlinson star while Michael Chaves directs.
James Wan, who is producing this entry, says in a posting: “Always good to see and hang out with old friends on set in England. Gonna miss everyone. End of an era.” The film opens September 5th 2025. [Source: X]
Xavier Dolan
A little over a year after his apparent retirement, 35-year old filmmaker Xavier Dolan has confirmed he back working on a new feature he hopes to shoot next year. He says the script is written and has “horrific aspects or moments” and “a lot of comic elements”.
The story reportedly takes place in 1895 in “the world of the elite, the Parisian literary world and in the countryside too.” [Source: Variety]
Maserati: The Brothers
Anthony Hopkins is attached to star in the Bobby Moresco-directed English-language biopic “Maserati: The Brothers” about the family behind the high-performance Italian automobiles.
Hopkins will play an Italian financier who bankrolls the Maserati brothers. Andrea Iervolino, who produced the recent “Ferrari” and “Lamborghini” biopics, is doing the same here. Filming begins shortly in Bologna. [Source: Variety]
Lockerbie: A Search for Truth
Peacock has released the teaser trailer for its upcoming series “Lockerbie: A Search for Truth” which debuts January 2nd. The project is inspired by the true-life story of the 1988 Pan Am Flight 103 explosion over the quiet, Scottish town of Lockerbie.
Colin Firth, Catherine McCormack, Rosanna Adams, Jemma Carlton, Harry Redding, Sam Troughton, Mark Bonner, Ardalan Esmaili, and Selwa Jghalef star in the Otto Bathurst-directed series about a man as he represents the UK victims’ families in his pursuit of truth.
