“Deadpool & Wolverine” star Ryan Reynolds took to X to express appreciation for Wesley Snipes’ take on Blade whilst also asking for something a lot of people would like – a “Logan”-esque film send-off for the character.
Snipes co-starred with Reynolds in 2005’s “Blade: Trinity” and admitted he “did not think it was possible” to reprise the character after that until Reynolds reached out about a short appearance in “Deadpool & Wolverine”.
That appearance has been such a hit that Reynolds’ posting credits Snipes and the character – dubbing him “Marvel Daddy” – for paving the way for creating the Fox Marvel Universe and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Because of that, he believes that Marvel Studios should give Snipes a “Blade” send-off movie like Hugh Jackman got one in 2017 with Logan.
The comments come as the Mahershala Ali-led “Blade” reboot at Marvel Studios has been met with multiple delays and still has not moved toward production as the script is still being worked on.
That take on “Blade” is still listed as having a November 2025 release.
