Jeff Goldblum as Zeus? Intriguing! Netflix has now released a teaser trailer for Kaos, their dark comedy based on Greek mythology.
It is set in the present day and features the Greek Gods making their way in the modern world. Goldblum’s Zeus is all-powerful, yet desperately insecure and occasionally vengeful. When he wakes up one morning and discovers he has wrinkles, his neurosis and paranoia kick in.
This forces Hera (Janet McTeer), Queen of the Gods, to act. Meanwhile, Zeus’ brother, Hades (David Thewlis) is secretly losing his grip on the underworld as the backlog of dead piles up, and Zeus’ rebellious son, Dionysus, (Nabhaan Rizwan), is out of control.
While Poseidon (Cliff Curtis) is more concerned with partying on his super-yacht, several mortals will become caught up in the unfolding events.
Riddy (Aurora Perrineau), Orpheus (Killian Scott), Caneus (Misia Butler) and Ari (Leila Farzad) will be joined by co-stars that include Billie Piper, Rakie Ayola, and Stanley Townsend.
The eight-episode series was written by Charlie Covell (The End of the F—ing World) and was directed by Georgi Banks-Davies and Runyararo Mapfumo. Filming took place in Spain during 2022.
The whole series of Kaos will drop on Netflix on August 29th.
