By Amazon Prime’s “The Boys” has been a critical and commercial success, even with the divisiveness over the current season.
That said, one thing almost universally agreed on is how good Anthony Starr’s performance as Homelander is, the New Zealand actor’s iconic villain is the face of the show and a role he will always be identified with.
That said, once “The Boys” finishes with its fifth season it seems that Starr has no plans to keep the cape or tights as he’s likely done with the genre.
Appearing on a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Starr shot down rumors or fan castings of himself in other superhero roles such as Booster Goldfor the new DC Universe:
“Booster Gold. What does he do?. No, tell me. I genuinely don’t [know]. I’m a little slow. Does he got blonde hair? Wow how did you come up with that? You really dug deep for that one.
I’m getting old, and my body doesn’t want to do much action anymore. I want to sit and go, ‘Hey, you can’t do that stuff.’ I want to sit behind a desk on a CSI show [Laughs].”
Booster Gold is expected to be coming in the form of a TV series with online rumors suggesting the team behind “The Righteous Gemstones” on HBO are involved and they may have already cast their lead.
