The Brad Pitt-led upcoming untitled Formula 1 racing film has finally locked down a release date – June 27th 2025.
Helmed by “Top Gun: Maverick” director Joseph Kosinski, Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo co-star in the film in which Pitt’s character comes out of retirement to mentor a younger driver (Idris).
Apple Studios is producing the film and has reportedly set a deal with Warner Bros. Pictures to handle the film’s theatrical rollout following similar deals with Sony for “Napoleon,” Paramount for “Killers of the Flower Moon,” and Universal for “Argylle”.
The film will score a major IMAX run at the same time and is expected to be marketed heavily on its racing sequences.
In terms of competition it will open opposite the “M3GAN” sequel and precede the release of the new “Jurassic World” film by one week. That film stars Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali and Jonathan Bailey.
Kosinski is producing alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman as well as Pitt, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and racing champion Sir Lewis Hamilton. Ehren Kruger wrote the screenplay.
