By Darth Jar Jar is here in the first trailer for the upcoming animated special “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy”.
Ahmed Best, who performed and voiced the character across the “Star Wars” prequel trilogy, returns here with a menacing Sith Lord version of the Gungan character first seen in 1999’s “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace”.
The special sees the Star Wars Galaxy gets completely mixed up when an ordinary nerf-herder, Sig Greebling (Gaten Matarazzo), unearths a powerful artifact from a hidden Jedi temple.
He finds himself thrust into adventure in a new, wondrously wild and twisted version of the galaxy where good guys are bad, bad guys are good, and the fate of all depends on Sig becoming the hero who can put all the pieces back together.
Mark Hamill will also lend his voice to a LEGO Luke Skywalker in the special which hails from showrunners and executive producers Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit (“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem”).
Jar Jar Binks being a villain has long been a fan theory for years, with this likely the closest we’ll see that particular theory realised.
“LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy” consists of four parts and makes its debut on September 13th.
