Dwayne Johnson has shared several new behind-the-scenes images and a video from his work in the recording booth for Disney’s animated “Moana 2” which is releasing in November.
Disney CEO Bob Iger surprised everyone with the announcement of the film in February, calling it an expansive new voyage with Moana, Maui and a brand-new crew of unlikely seafarers.
After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana must journey to the far seas of Oceania and into dangerous, long-lost waters.
It wasn’t clear if voice stars Auli’i Cravalho or Dwayne Johnson would return at the time, but within a day came word Johnson was back whilst Cravalho’s deal happened a few weeks later.
Johnson says in his post: “So much fun becoming MAUI again – a character that changed my life in many ways – including the character of MAUI being inspired by my late grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia”.
The film, which is written and directed by David G. Derrick Jr., releases in United States on November 27th.
