The full line-up for the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival has been announced and brings with it entries from many acclaimed filmmakers.
The likes of Francis Ford Coppola, George Miller, Yorgos Lanthimos, David Cronenberg, Kevin Costner, Andrea Arnold, Paolo Sorrentino, Jacques Audiard, Sean Baker, Paul Schrader, Guy Maddin, Ali Abbasi and Leos Carax are all set to debut works there this year.
Greta Gerwig will lead the jury this year and the festival will now expand beyond the Palais des Festivals and onto the Palm Beach venue located on the opposite side of the Croisette. George Lucas will be honored with a lifetime achievement award.
It also follows on from last year’s stellar line-up which saw Justine Triet’s “Anatomy of a Fall” and Jonathan Glazer’s “The Zone of Interest” premiering and going on to become Best Picture nominees as well as winning Oscars in other categories. The line-up is as follows:
