Netflix has premiered the first trailer for “Under Paris,” a new shark thriller from French filmmaker Xavier Gens (“Frontiers,” “Cold Skin,” “Lupin”).
The film sees Paris hosting the World Triathlon Championships on the Seine River for the first time. Sophia, a brilliant scientist, learns from Mika, a young environmental activist, that a large shark is swimming deep in the river.
To avoid a bloodbath at the heart of the city, they have no choice but to join forces with Adil, the river’s police commander. A ton of CG shark action ensues as many fall victim to the animal
Berenice Bejo, Nassim Lyes, Lea Leviant, Inaki Lartigue and Jose Antonio Pedrosa Moreno star. Gens co-wrote the screenplay with Yaël Langmann, Yannick Dahan, and Maud Heywang.
Sebastien Auscher produced the film. “Under Paris” debuts on the streamer on June 5th.
