By Whilst Amazon hasn’t officially renewed its upcoming TV series adaptation of the “Fallout” games, a new listing suggests it’s a very strong possibility.
The state of California has handed out $152 million in incentives to productions, with “Fallout” to score $25 million of that for a second season – one of the largest allocations ever from the program for a relocating series.
The show’s first season was filmed in New York State, Utah, New Jersey and Namibia. The news follows on from hints from executive producers Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan recently about a potential renewal.
Governor Gavin Newsom said today in a statement:
“From bringing Fallout home to keeping classics in California, this program has helped our iconic, world-leading entertainment sector create tens of thousands of good jobs for Californians and generate billions of dollars for communities across the state over the past 15 years.”
Others to score benefits this round include prequel spin-off “NCIS: Origins,” the Noah Wyle-led “The Pitt,” the Joshua Jackson-led “Dr. Odyssey,” and “Grotesquerie” with Niecy Nash.
Despite being awarded the tax credits, there’s no guarantee the project will go forward as yet. The “Fallout” series launches on April 11th.
