Alan Ritchson’s star is definitely on the rise, mostly driven by his highly regarded turn as Jack Reacher in the Amazon show.
He appeared in the latest Fast And Furious movie, has a Guy Ritchie project landing shortly, and is set to star opposite Kevin James in action-comedy Playdate. The third season of Reacher is also shooting in Toronto.
The series, based on the novels by Lee Child, is a massive hit for the streamer. Over 1.84 billion minutes of the show have been streamned. But how much longer can it continue, as the whole thing hinges on its star?
His portrayal of the outwardly gruff, potentially on the spectrum, but capable of humor character is appreciated by fans of the book for being very close to how they envisaged him from Child’s work. However, the role is time-consuming and demanding. Will he stick with it? In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, this is what he had to say:
“I owe it to the audience to explore as many of these books as my body will allow, and I owe it to the people that took a shot on me when I was a huge risk for them. They have given me a real career.”
Amazon MGM Studios chief Jennifer Salke echoed this:
“We’ll have Alan as long as he will play Jack Reacher. No end in sight for that, hopefully that’s for a very, very, very long time.
The third season of Reacher may appear as early as the end of this year, but no date has been set.
