Devil hunter Dante isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Just one week after its explosive debut, Netflix has officially renewed Devil May Cry for a season 2 – now locked in for release on May 12, 2026.

Created by Adi Shankar and animated by South Korea’s Studio Mir, the series adapts the legendary video game franchise from Capcom into a stylish, action-packed anime. The story follows Dante, a half-human, half-demon mercenary voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch, as he battles both supernatural threats and a relentless government agency known as DARKCOM. Standing in his way is the sinister White Rabbit, voiced by Hoon Lee, whose mission to unleash hell on Earth raises the stakes to apocalyptic levels.

The Devil May Cry franchise first launched in 2001 and quickly redefined action gaming with its fast-paced combat, stylish combos, and gothic aesthetic. Originally envisioned as an early version of Resident Evil 4, it evolved into its own культ classic, spawning multiple sequels and turning Dante into one of gaming’s most iconic antiheroes.

With its blend of slick animation and faithful storytelling, Season 2 promises even bigger battles — and more demon-slaying chaos.
