Kathryn Bigelow’s last movie, A House Of Dynamite, was a weird experience for me. You don’t love or enjoy a movie like that, but I did think it was excellent. This opinion seemed to place me at odds with at least 90% of Outposters, given the comments in the Disqus.

Bigelow is now circling a potential future project, according to World Of Reel, in the form of Unarmed.

This is set in an Armed Forces medical center and follows Amos Searl, a civilian psychiatrist and double amputee, starting his career at a military medical facility that treats veterans recovering from severe injuries sustained in recent conflicts. Searl aims to help young service members navigate their return to civilian life.

It is written by Dennis Johnson and Oscar-winning Eric Roth. It was planned as a feature film, but Roth then sold it to HBO. This was as far back as 2015. Johnson worked to expand the script into five separate instalments to drive a limited series.

Then it got stuck in development. Now the outlet has picked up on an interview that Roth did on Rick Rubin’s Tetragrammaton podcast earlier last month, where he stated that it is very close to moving again, and said that Bigelow “might do it”.

Roth also confirmed he’s currently writing the script for Denis Villeneuve’s telling of Arthur C. Clarke’s Rendezvous With Rama.
