A24 has premiered the full-length trailer for the pop melodrama meets horror tale “Mother Mary” which hails from “The Green Knight” filmmaker David Lowery.

Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel lead the film which also stars Hunter Schafer, Atheena Frizzell, Kaia Gerber, Jessica Brown Findlay, Isaura Barbé-Brown, Alba Baptista, Sian Clifford, and FKA Twigs.

Long-buried wounds rise to the surface when iconic pop star Mother Mary (Hathaway) reunites with her estranged best friend and former costume designer Sam Anselm (Coel) on the eve of her comeback performance.

Basically, the designer created Mary’s costumes early in her career – propelling the singer to stardom. Then, said designer was left hung out to dry.

Years later, the singer returns to the designer’s workshop begging to work with her again – the once burned designer surprisingly agrees. So begins a battle of wills between the two women.

Jack Antonoff and Charli XCX write and produce original songs for the film alongside an original score composed by Daniel Hart.

Lowery penned, directs and will produce the film alongside Toby Halbrooks and James M. Johnston, Jeanie Igoe, Jonas Katzenstein, Maximilian Leo and Jonathan Saubach. The film is scheduled to debut on April 17th in select theaters, followed by its wide release on April 24th.
