Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Studios have premiered a 30-second tease for Craig Gillespie’s “Supergirl” film, the clip coming ahead of the film’s second trailer arriving online tomorrow (March 31st).
Meanwhile, EW spoke with Gillespie, who talked about scenes set on the planet Krypton and the city of Argo.
Gillespie says: “There are five languages in this film, and Kryptonian is one of them — all original languages. So they had to learn a language. There are some major scenes, like minutes and minutes of dialogue that they’ve got to work with. You really need actors of that caliber.”
Multiple other planets will feature in the film, with Gillespie estimating around nine distinct worlds, each with its own language, are visited: “There is quite a lot of travelling involved.”
Australian actress Milly Alcock (“House of the Dragon”) takes on the role of Kara Zor-El/Supergirl in the film which is based on the “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” limited series comic by Tom King.
In the film, Supergirl (Alcock) travels across the galaxy to celebrate her 21st birthday with Krypto the Superdog. Along the way, she meets a young woman named Ruthye and winds up on a murderous quest for revenge.
Also starring are Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Jason Momoa as Lobo, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze and Alice Hewkin as a Sklarian Raider.
“Supergirl” opens in cinemas on June 26th.
