The long-standing rumour that “Stranger Things” actress Sadie Sink will be playing X-Men character Jean Grey appears to be true.
When Sink’s name was announced as joining the cast of “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” it was widely expected she would be an important character in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The Hot Mic’s Jeff Sneider first reported on Sink as Jean Grey way back in December 2024 with the character being lined up for potentially multiple Marvel films.
The scoop came from the same source as the one who broke the Beatles casting news for Sam Mendes’s biopics. This week, Sneider indicated Sink is essentially confirmed for the role. Nothing is officially announced as yet.
In the film, Peter Parker is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves.
Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he’s devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.
Destin Daniel Cretton (“Wonder Man,” “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”) helms the film.
