20th Century Studios has finally locked down a digital release date for James Cameron’s third “Avatar” feature – “Avatar: Fire and Ash”.

People report that the title is releasing to own on digital next week, specifically on March 31st. That’s approximately 103 days after its theatrical release on December 17th last year.

That is one of the longest theatrical-to-PVOD release windows in living memory. It’s not quite as long as the 122-day gap in “Oppenheimer,” but it’s one day longer than the 102-day gap between the second “Avatar” film and its PVOD release.

In addition, the title will be coming to 4K and Blu-ray disc on May 19th.

The film finished its box-office run after grossing $1.48 million globally, ranking as the 17th-highest-grossing movie of all time. That’s far behind the first and third films, which ranked 1st and 2nd, respectively.

The news comes as the fate of the fourth film remains in question, with Disney yet to announce whether it will move forward with another one. The movie’s performance in the streaming and disc markets could affect it there.

Details on any special features for the release have not yet been revealed, and no word on a possible Disney+ premiere date. If it follows the pattern of the second one, the release is likely to happen around early June.
