“One Battle After Another” and “There Will Be Blood” filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson has reportedly rewritten Tony-winning playwright Patrick Marber’s script for the new Martin Scorsese film “What Happens at Night”.

The Insneider broke the news, indicating that there was no real issues here, just Anderson helping out Scorsese and star/producer Leonardo DiCaprio with a rewrite/script polish.

Marber penned such films as “Closer” and “Notes on a Scandal,” the latter earning an Oscar nomination.

It’s not clear how extensive it was or if Anderson will get credit. There were reports Anderson did a similar thing with the last Scorsese-DiCaprio effort “Killers of the Flower Moon” as well as Ridley Scott’s “Napoleon”. Anderson was asked about those reports in September, and told The Wrap:

“I love to contribute in any way I can if somebody reaches out for help. Both of those things were a thing with Joaquin (Phoenix), a thing with Leo (DiCaprio), and obviously with Marty and Ridley. It’s always a privilege to say, ‘Let me tell you my thoughts on the script.’They made me feel encouraged and confident.”

DiCaprio stars in “What Happens at Night” alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Jared Harris, Patricia Clarkson and Mads Mikkelsen. Filming is currently underway in Prague for Apple Original Films.
