Two of the biggest films of the year look like they’re going to launch their first trailers online next week ahead of the release of “Project Hail Mary” in cinemas.

First up, scoopers DanielRPK and Cryptic4KQual are both indicating that the teaser trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Three” will launch next week and has already been shown to select sources.

While that may sound very early, considering the film doesn’t open for another nine months, it’s actually short compared to the previous two films.

“Dune” released its first teaser on September 9th 2020, over a year before it opened on October 22nd 2021, though a pandemic-related release delay was partly to blame for that. “Dune: Part Two” dropped its first trailer on May 3rd 2023, ten months ahead of the film’s opening on March 1st 2024 – but a strikes-related release delay played a part in that.

The other film expected to drop its first trailer is the much-anticipated “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” with DanielRPK and several other scoopers seemingly confirming it.

Previously, it was reported that the studio was considering a trailer release either alongside “Project Hail Mary” (which Sony is opening internationally) or holding off until CinemaCon next month. It looks like they’re going with the former plan.

Scheduled to open July 31st, the trailer arrives just over four months ahead of release – perfectly in line with the prior film “Spider-Man: No Way Home” which released its teaser trailer just under four months ahead of its release.`
