New production listings have indicated that shooting will begin on a third film in the Chris Hemsworth-led “Extraction” action franchise in June.
What’s On Netflix says the shoot will run for nearly four months through to October 9th. Hemsworth will return as Australian mercenary Tyler Rake alongside Sam Hargrave back as director.
The first film was primarily set in Dhaka, Bangladesh but was shot in Thailand and India and followed Rake being hired to extract the kidnapped son of an Indian crime lord.
The second film was set in the country of Georgia but shot in the Czech Republic and Vienna. That followed Tyler breaking a woman and her children out of a crime syndicate-controlled prison.
The new film, on the other hand, will be both shot and set in Australia, with the majority of filming taking place in Sydney.
Cinematographer Fraser Taggart (“Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning”) will lens the film.
