We often talk about streaming being the home of the kind of stuff that we would have rented the heck out of on VHS back in the day. he later candidate for this could be War Machine.

It is out this Thursday, just in time for the weekend. Settle into your ass groove on the couch and crack open a bottle of something.

To advertise this, Netflix has premiered a new clip direct on their Twitter/X channel, and you can view it here.

The Alan Ritchson-led feature is set in the final stage of US Army Ranger selection, when an elite team’s training exercise in a forested region turns into a fight for survival as the training exercise stops feeling controlled and it starts to feel like they are being hunted.

Soon fear, fatigue, and paranoia start corroding the team’s efforts against an unimaginable threat,  a mechanoid of incredibly advanced design that won’t stop until its found and killed them all.

Predator via Dog Soldiers with a dash of Lone Survivor? Yeah, OK. We are in!

Dennis Quaid, Stephan James, Jai Courtney, Esai Morales, Blake Richardson, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Daniel Webber all co-star.

The news that makes us really harken back to those heady days of VHS is that the film has been rated R for ‘strong violence, grisly images and language’. Check, check, and check!

Patrick Hughes (The Hitman’s Bodyguard) directs from a script he wrote with James Beaufort.

That’s Friday night, sorted, then.
