Netflix has premiered the trailer for “Detective Hole,” its upcoming Norwegian crime drama series adaptation of “Headhunters” author Jo Nesbø’s popular Harry Hole novels.

Underneath the surface, this series is described as a “nuanced character drama about two police officers – and supposed colleagues – operating on opposite sides of the law”.

Throughout the season, Harry Hole (Tobias Santelmann) goes head-to-head with his long-time adversary and corrupt detective Tom Waaler (Joel Kinnaman). Harry is a brilliant but tormented homicide detective who struggles with his demons.

As the two navigate the blurred ethical lines of the criminal justice system, Harry must do all he can to catch a serial killer and bring Waaler to justice before it is too late.

The season will be based on the 2003 novel “The Devil’s Star”. Thirteen novels have been penned so far, with one of them, 2007’s “The Snowman,” becoming a film.

The ensemble cast includes Pia Tjelta, Ellen Helinder, Anders Baasmo, Maxime Baune Bochud, Kåre Conradi, Simon J. Berger, Peter Stormare, Fridtjov Såheim, Eili Harboe, Atle Antonsen, Manish Sharma, and Jesper Christensen.

“Detective Hole” is created and written by Nesbø, boasts a score by Nick Cave
and Warren Ellis, and is set to start streaming on March 26th.
