Deep in darkest Surrey, probably in Bourne Woods, where Gladiator, Thor, War Horse, and Harry Potter have all been shot, Sophie Turner has been seen filming some big action sequences for Tomb Raider.

The live-action Tomb Raider TV series is in production for Prime Video, and Turner takes on the role of Lara Croft. The sequences filmed on location this time included a knife fight, and a motorbike escape with co-star Martin Bobb-Semple driving the bike.

Bobb-Semple plays Zip, Lara’s trusted tech support and friend. This is likely an amalgamation of Chris Barrie’s Hilary and Noah Tyler’s Bryce characters from the Angelina Jolie versions.

Turner is said to be doing a lot of stunts herself. Earlier this month, she was filmed completing a parachute landing stunt over a lake.

The level of stunts has led to Turner having to train and prep for nearly a year. In an interview given to Screen Rant recently, she said her time as Sansa Stark in the HBO series Game Of Thrones has done nothing to prepare her for this, because Sansa had a general lack of action scenes:

“No, I was the cool queen who, like, didn’t have to do that. I also just kind of was the one that got beat up, not the one doing the beating, so, it’s quite nice to learn how to throw a punch and not just take it.”

Filming is expected to continue for the next several months before entering post-production. Tomb Raider is expected to land sometime in 2027 on Prime Video.
