
Two major films from the turn of the century are about to get some upgrades.
First up, Universal Pictures has premiered a trailer and poster to announce the nationwide theatrical re-release of “The Mummy Returns” in time for the film’s 25th anniversary.
The Stephen Sommers-directed 2001 title will get a special limited engagement on screens on March 27th, with tickets going on sale tomorrow.
Set 10 years after the events of the first film, the film sees Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz reprising their roles of Rick O’Connell and Evelyn Carnahan in the film which introduces Dwayne Johnson as The Scorpion King.
The other film getting a re-release is David Fincher’s “Fight Club”. The 1999 title is returning to movie theaters in April for a one-night-only theatrical run on April 22nd to celebrate the upcoming 4K Ultra HD disc release of the title on May 12th.
The new disc release of the film will include lots of special features including at least four commentary tracks, multiple featurettes, deleted scenes, press material and more.
