Director Kazuya Shiraishi, known for The Blood of Wolves and 11 Rebels, returns with the period revenge action film Bushido. The film centers on honor, betrayal, and delayed vengeance, anchored by a restrained performance from Tsuyoshi Kusanagi.

Kusanagi plays Kakunoshin, a disciplined samurai respected for both his swordsmanship and his mastery of the strategy game go. Bound by a strict moral code, he becomes the victim of internal clan politics when his integrity is twisted against him. Framed for theft and stripped of his status, he is cast out and forced to live as a ronin. Years pass as he survives quietly as a seal maker, raising his daughter while carrying the weight of disgrace.

When a new case involving missing gold surfaces, buried truths begin to unravel. Kakunoshin discovers the deception that destroyed his life. The man who endured humiliation in silence finally reaches his limit. What follows is a calculated return to the blade and a reckoning long overdue.

The cast includes Kaya Kiyohara, Taishi Nakagawa, Kyoko Koizumi, and Takumi Saitoh. Film Movement will release Bushido in theaters on March 13, 2026, followed by a digital release on May 22, 2026.
