HBO has released the first trailer and announced a March 8th premiere date for the upcoming comedy series “Rooster”.
Set on a college campus, the series revolves around an acclaimed author named Greg Russo (Steve Carell) who gets pulled into the academic world through his adult daughter, Katie Russo (Charly Clive), a professor at an elite college whose husband is cheating on her.
Greg attempts to support her without overstepping, trying to deal with this complicated, evolving relationship all while navigating a new environment where he feels out of his depth.
Danielle Deadwyler, Phil Dunster, John C. McGinley, and Lauren Tsai co-star. It marks Carell’s latest TV stint following Netflix’s “The Four Seasons” and HBO’s telemovie “Mountainhead”.
The ten-episode season hails from “Ted Lasso,” “Bad Monkey” and “Scrubs” creator Bill Lawrence alongside collaborator Matt Tarses. Episodes will be available to stream on HBO Max following their airing.
