Distributor NEON has officially announced an April 10th U.S. release date for “Exit 8,” the Genki Kawamura-directed film adaptation of the Japanese indie horror game, which landed an eight-minute standing ovation at Cannes and sits at a 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The company has also released a poster and indicate the U.S. trailer for the film will be released tomorrow. The movie has already opened in multiple parts of Asia and Europe. [Source: NEON]
The Exorcist
Following their work together on “The Life of Chuck,” Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor will reunite with director Mike Flanagan in “The Exorcist” at Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, Morgan Creek Entertainment and Universal Pictures.
Scarlett Johansson, Jacobi Jupe, and Diane Lane will co-star in the film which will be released theatrically on Friday, March 12th 2027 and is set to shoot in New York City. The film will tell an all-new story set in The Exorcist universe. [Source: Blumhouse]
Seance on a Wet Afternoon
Matthew Macfadyen is set to join Rachel Weisz in “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy” director Tomas Alfredson’s “Seance on a Wet Afternoon”. Emmy winner Jack Thorne (“Adolescence,” “Lord of the Flies”) pens the project, based on Mark McShane’s 1961 novel, which is now shooting in the UK.
Weisz plays Myra, a self-proclaimed medium who convinces her husband, Billy (Macfadyen), to kidnap the son of a wealthy family so she can lead the police to the ‘missing’ child and legitimise her psychic abilities. When Myra’s true intentions come to light, however, Billy realises her plan threatens to consume them both. [Source: THR]
The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins
NBC has premiered the new trailer for its sports comedy series “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins”, starring Tracy Morgan and Daniel Radcliffe, which returns on Monday, February 23rd, following a special pilot presentation the other week. All episodes will be available the next day on Peacock.
In the series, disgraced former football star Reggie Dinkins is on a mission to rehabilitate his image with the help of award-winning filmmaker Arthur Tobin. To earn back the admiration of his fans and the respect of his family, Reggie will also have to confront the ghosts of his past. Erika Alexander, Bobby Moynihan, Precious Way, and Jalyn Hall co-star in the ten episode series.
