Jorge Lendeborg Jr. (“Bumblebee,” “Alita: Battle Angel”) and Clea DuVall (“Poker Face,” “Happiest Season”) have both joined the cast of HBO’s “The Last of Us” for the upcoming third season.

Lendeborg Jr. is set to take over the role of Manny Alvarez, replacing Danny Ramirez who played the recurring role in the second season but couldn’t return due to scheduling conflicts.

Manny is a close friend of Abby Anderson (Kaitlyn Dever), a member of the Washington Liberation Front and a former member of the Fireflies.

DuVall, meanwhile, will play one of the Seraphites. There are only a handful of Seraphite characters, though one possibility is Emily – a woman who captures Abby at one point in a scene introducing two key new characters.

As HBO exec Casey Bloys indicated the other day, this third season is looking likely to finish adapting “The Last of Us Part II” game and thus will mark the final season of the show. The vast majority of the season will unfold from Abby’s perspective.

Craig Mazin, who served as executive producer/co-showrunner alongside Neil Druckmann in the first two seasons, will be sole showrunner for Season 3 following Druckmann’s departure.
