Isaac Florentine’s new action film Hellfire pairs Stephen Lang, Dolph Lundgren, and Harvey Keitel in a late-arriving but intriguing genre entry set for release on February 17.
Shot back in 2022, the film finally surfaces as a home-viewing release, leaning into classic lone-warrior territory. Lang stars as a haunted drifter who walks into a decaying Southern town controlled by a brutal crime boss and a corrupt sheriff. When violence erupts, he launches a one-man campaign for justice and redemption, fighting to reclaim the town’s soul.
Florentine’s direction keeps the action focused and physical, giving the film a throwback feel that echoes Road House and other save-the-town staples.
Lang’s screen presence recalls the moment Liam Neeson reinvented himself as a retired but lethal action lead. Like Neeson, Lang brings weight, restraint, and credibility rather than flash. He looks convincing taking on an entire town, grounded in grit rather than spectacle.
Dolph Lundgren appears in a supporting role, continuing a phase of frequent appearances that mirrors Eric Roberts’ prolific cameo-heavy output. While brief, his presence adds genre familiarity.
Harvey Keitel lends gravitas, anchoring the film with veteran authority.
While not redefining action cinema, the film stands above routine schlock, offering solid performances and classic structure for fans of stripped-down revenge stories.
