Disney Pictures has set Australian actress Teagan Croft (“Titans”) and “Zombies” franchise star Milo Manheim as the stars of its live-action adaptation of 2010 animated feature “Tangled”.
Croft will play Rapunzel, the plucky princess with the magical hair. Manheim is Flynn Rider, the cocksure outlaw thief who helps her escape her tower prison.
Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi voiced the roles, respectively, in the original. Finalists screen tested in London last month, just before the holidays.
The role of the villainous Mother Gothel, which was earmarked for Scarlett Johansson at one point, is now seeking its casting.
Michael Gracey (“Better Man,” “The Greatest Showman”) directs the film, which is said to boast major musical elements.
Kristin Burr (“Freakier Friday,” “Cruella”) is producing while Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (“Thor: Love and Thunder”) wrote the script.
