You will own nothing, and you’ll be happy. Or, at least, you will not own the new generation of home PCs and consoles anytime soon. You went and blew it. You people, getting together in cyberspace and talking about things “they” didn’t want you to talk about, destroying their ability to control the narrative. Pointing out they are all a bunch of raving pedophiles who actively detest you as anything else but tax-pigs. So…

In the future, all computing will be done in the cloud, and all information will be provided via big-tech AI that can be regulated and controlled. Then we shall have no more of this freedom and silliness.

I kid, I kid… or do I?

Either way, the next generation of gaming consoles and ultra-high-powered PCs is now highly likely to be delayed by the ongoing global RAM shortage caused by the hunger of AI.

Newsis reports that Nvidia and AMD are significantly raising GPU prices for PCs in the coming weeks. The price rises will continue throughout the year. As a result, a premium GPU like the Nvidia RTX 5090, which cost $1,999 when released, will go as high $5,000 this year. This will push top spec PCs beyond a comfortable price point for everyone but the super-rich. The kind of people with their own islands, for instance.

Ram. Expensive.

Consoles will similarly struggle. With the PS5 landing in 2020 and a traditional 7-8 year cycle between generations, 2027 was a good bet for the PS6. Not so, says Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson:

“From what we understand, the situation has led console manufacturers to debate whether the next generation of consoles should be delayed from their intended 2027-2028 release window, with the hope that RAM manufacturers will be able to build out their infrastructure to produce more RAM, thereby allowing prices to drop.”

Consume, but don’t own it, make sure it’s rented from somebody considerably richer than you.
