Director Christopher Nolan brings the great Greek epic to the big screen as Universal Pictures releases the official trailer for their upcoming mythological of The Odyssey. View trailer below.
The Odyssey follows Odysseus, the legendary Greek king of Ithaca, on his long and perilous journey home following the Trojan War, chronicling his encounters with mythical beings such as the Cyclops Polyphemus, sirens, and the witch-goddess Circe, while attempting to reunite with his wife, Penelope, and his son, Telemachus.
Oh wow….I wasn’t expecting a trailer for this movie to be dropped online this year, but, much like everyone else out there, I am definitely glad that it did. Homer’s The Odyssey has been one of my favorites since middle school, which I read several times for 6th, 7th, and 10th grade. It’s definitely one of the best Greek mythology tales out there and has plenty of iconic scenes that happen to Odysseus on his way home. Of course, with director Christopher Nolan announcing that his next film would adapting The Odyssey, I was overly excited, and this trailer confirms that excitement. While I did already watched the teaser trailer for the movie, which was released for Jurassic World: Rebirth during the summer and watched the six-minute prologue trailer during Avatar: Fire and Ash, this official trailer that was released online looks incredible. Definitely can’t wait to see what Nolan does with epic tale.
The Odyssey arrives in theaters on July 17th, 2026
