By Marvel Studios has premiered new photos from the upcoming second season of “Daredevil: Born Again,” one of the new shots showing off a look at actress Krysten Ritter reprising her role as Jessica Jones.
In the shot, she can be seen alongside Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock/Daredevil. The long-awaited re-teaming comes nearly a decade after they previously teamed on screen in 2017’s “The Defenders” mini-series.
EW first published the shots, and Cox tells the outlet:
“Just by the nature of who Jessica is and who Matt is, they both give as much as they get. I’m not sure we were aware of it when we were shooting it. So we’ve been really waiting for this opportunity for so long now to put these two on screen together and have more fun with them.
We both talked about it being important to play some of the hits, as it were, to make sure that we have that same dynamic. Tongue in cheek, take the piss out of each other, but also get down to business and make sure that we’re serving the story appropriately.”
Marvel Television boss Brad Winderbaum says Jessica Jones’ involvement in the story in this season is comparable to Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher in the first season in terms of ‘presence’.
The second season will also see Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page having a bigger role, with Cox saying the character is “badass” in the second season and the role is at “the best it has ever been”.
Also joining the season, and seen in the photos, are Matthew Lillard as another power player named Mr. Charles, along with Lili Taylor as New York governor Marge McCaffrey.
“Daredevil: Born Again” returns in March on Disney+.
