Actor Steve Zahn, currently out promoting the new “Anaconda” film, has offered an update on the future of Apple TV’s acclaimed sci-fi series “Silo”.
In December 2024, a double-season renewal order came midway through the streamer’s release of the show’s second season. That run introduced Zahn’s character, who spent much of the season interacting with Rebecca Ferguson’s Juliette.
While the first two seasons effectively adapted Hugh Howey’s novel “Wool,” the order gave showrunner Graham Yost and the producers the room to finish of translating the book trilogy with the third season tackling the second novel “Shift” and the third doing “Dust”.
Speaking with Collider, the actor said production isn’t too far from completion:
“We’re almost done. I’m almost done. I flew here yesterday. We’re in [Season] 4 right now. We’re in the middle of 4, and it’s the biggest show. There’s so much going on. Season 4 is really cool. There’s a lot in 4. It spreads out all over. It gets really cool. There’s a lot of action.
Season 3 is still in post. It’s coming out. I don’t know when. It’s a complicated show. There’s a lot going on as far as visual effects.”
The series follows the last few thousand people on Earth living in a mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built and any who try to find out face fatal consequences.
The third season will shift the focus primarily to the past with Ashley Zukerman and Jessica Henwick as key people involved in the building of the silos. Tim Robbins, Common, Steve Zahn, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Steve Zahn and Iain Glen co-star in the series which hasn’t announced a Season 3 airdate as yet.
