Well – who saw that coming today? Blimey! Completely out of nowhere, a teaser trailer has dropped for Steven Spielberg’s latest movie. Now we know it is called Disclosure Day.

A plot synopsis for Disclosure Day had not been released, only that the studio described it as a “new original event film” with the genre listed online as a thriller.

It stars Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, and Eve Hewson alongside lead Emily Blunt, and it marks Spielberg’s first new movie as a director since his Oscar-nominated, semi-autobiographical 2022 drama The Fabelmans.

Plot synopsis or not, we can work it out from this teaser:

All that was previously known was that the movie was reportedly a return to science fiction for Spielberg and allegedly had something to do with UFOs. This teaser confirms all of the above.

The speculation intensified recently after billboards for the movie arrived, showing a close-up of an eye along with the cryptic text, “All will be disclosed.”

So, a new addition to the Spielberg “alien” pantheon, alongside Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, War of the Worlds, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is coming. A return to form for the greatest living director?
