Game director Casey Hudson has quickly debunked rumors that the freshly announced “Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic” game will release in 2030 or later.
In a posting on X, Hudson says: “Don’t worry about the ‘not till 2030’ rumors. Game will be out before then. I’m not getting any younger!”
Earlier today, he posted that he and his team are “still buzzing from the excitement last night” when the game was revealed during the Game Awards.
He adds: “We’re in early development, but we look forward to revealing more about ‘Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic,’ and we’ll be sharing it here!”
The title is described as a big-budget, epic narrative, single-player, action-adventure RPG game which is “not a direct sequel or continuation” to the famed “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic” game.
A 2028/2029 release for the title would suggest it will be out early in the PlayStation 6 era.
