Hot on the heels of “Avengers: Endgame” star Scarlett Johansson being cast in a mystery role, a new report says not one but two middle-aged men are being sought for Matt Reeves’ “The Batman: Part II” at Warner Bros. Pictures.
World of Reel says Reeves is currently casting these roles, which are both described as antagonists. Rumours have been swirling for weeks, if not months that Brad Pitt is being sought for a role – presumably one of those villains.
THR has now shot that Pitt casting down, confirming those rumours are not true and Pitt will not be in the movie.
Theories have swirled about just who the villains of the piece will be, ranging from a variation on the Phantasm from the animated film “Batman: Mask of the Phantasm,” to Hush, the Court of Owls, Jeremiah Arkham, Dr Hugo Strange and Mr Freeze.
Reeves has previously indicated his decision to focus more on Bruce Wayne (and Batman) inspired his choice of villain/s for this outing, with an antagonist who has “never really been done in a movie before”.
Robert Pattinson, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, and Jeffrey Wright also return from the first film and shooting on the project is now targeting a May start.
