By Iko Uwais steps forward with Uwais Pictures and completes his first film, Timur.
He directs and stars in this action project inspired by the 1996 Mapenduma hostage crisis.
The story centers on Timur, an operative sent into the jungle after foreign researchers are taken by separatist rebels. When talks fail, he leads a rescue that turns into a test of conviction and endurance. Uwais brings close-quarters combat, large military set pieces, and authentic Indonesian martial arts to the screen.
The film highlights real locations and sharp stunt work while giving Uwais a new level of creative control.
