Well… who had this on their 2025 bingo card? President Donald Trump is said to want to use his presidential influence to revive 1980s and 1990s comedies and action movies. This is all according to a new report published by Semafor and picked up by Dark Horizons.

The report says that Trump is a big fan of the Rush Hour movies, and that Van Damme’s Bloodsport is another favorite of his. No matter where you are on the political spectrum, no man who likes Bloodsport can be all bad, right?

The report goes on to say that Trump wants Rush Hour 4 to be made, and is working with Paramount’s Larry Ellison, also one of Trump’s biggest financial supporters. If Paramount buys Warner Bros. then Trump wants Jackie Chan, Chris Tucker, and filmmaker Brett Ratner to re-team.

The sticking point? Brett Ratner. “The Rat” faced multiple allegations of sexual misconduct and harassment in the late 2010s.

It is important to note, and to keep our legal department (me with an Idiots Guide To Law book) happy, that Brett Ratner has never been convicted of a crime in relation to the numerous sexual misconduct allegations made against him. He has consistently denied all accusations.

No charges were ever pressed by the actresses who made the allegations, and a rape allegation was made in a social media post, and never followed up.

The report says that all involved are keen to press ahead if the opportunity presents itself, but the studio has concerns over Ratner.
