Everyone loves a good shark movie! The trouble is, as we always say here at Last Movie Outpost, there is only one really good shark movie, followed by a stack of shark movies that are OK, and legions of absolute dogshit. So, where will Beast Of War rank?

We get our first real good look at it after Well Go USA Entertainment dropped the trailer.

Beast Of War is from Australian director Kiah Roache-Turner. It is another horror feature from the director behind Wyrmwood, Nekrotronic, Wyrmwood: Apocalypse, and Sting.

Set in 1942, the story follows a group of young Australian soldiers stranded at sea after their warship is destroyed in a Japanese air attack. As they struggle to survive on a single life raft, a new terror emerges in the form of a massive, relentless great white shark.

The film is based on the real-life sinking of the HMAS Armidale during the evacuation of troops from Timor. Of the 149 men on board, 100 died either in the attack or later at sea from exposure, thirst, and shark attacks.

The movie will be taking some dramatic liberties in telling the tale.

To create the attack sequences, they used a combination of CG and a giant animatronic shark that weighed half a ton.

Beast Of War will get a U.S. theatrical and digital release on October 10th.
