You know who’s a good boy? None of us, that’s for sure. However, man’s best friend is a Good Boy, and he sees ghosts in a new trailer.
Good Boy is a ghost story, but shot from the perspective of the family dog. The movie stars Larry Fessenden, Arielle Friedman, Shane Jensen, Anya Krawcheck, Stuart Rudin, and Indy. Yeah, the dog is called Indy. The story is:
A loyal dog moves to a rural family home with his owner Todd, only to discover supernatural forces lurking in the shadows. As dark entities threaten his human companion, the brave pup must fight to protect the one he loves most.
Ben Leonberg is the writer and director, and is Indy’s owner. They say ‘Never work with children or animals’, but I guess, if you’re directing your own dog, it’s fine. To be fair, the dog seems to be a better actor than some actors out there.
Deadline reported that for Good Boy Leonberg adapted his own home and acted as a stand-in for Indy’s schedule. The production took 400 days and a lot of patience, as Indy is ‘not a trained actor’.
The only issue with Good Boy is that it’s being produced by Shudder. I know this is unfair, but I’ve yet to see anything good produced by Shudder. Like I said about Blumhouse, they have a lot of passion, but just don’t seem to have much talent.
Good Boy will be getting a theatrical release on the 3rd of October.
