Generally, video games to movie/TV shows don’t have a good track record. For example, watch any Uwe Boll movie ever. However, something like Fallout comes along and is actually pretty good.
The first of the Fallout games came out in 1997, last century! I’m guessing that most people learned of the series from Fallout 3 in 2008. With a gripping story, new and exciting mutants, the game is a smash hit.
Where it all started in 1997
With such a big series, it was only a matter of time before it was turned into a movie or TV series. Well, it took about 15 years, but the Fallout TV series premiered on Amazon in 2023.
The series turned out to be one of the most-watched shows on Amazon, registering over 65 million views in the first 2 weeks of release. The series starred Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, Moises Arias, Leer Leary, Zach Cherry, and Xelia Mendes-Jones. The story was:
In a future, post-apocalyptic Los Angeles brought about by nuclear decimation, citizens must live in underground bunkers to protect themselves from radiation, mutants and bandits.
As I said, if you know the games, you know the story, and it is very interesting.
Fallout 2 will see a lot of the same actors return, but this time, including Macaulay Culkin as a new character. Here are some images, without Culkin.
Fallout 2 is due out later this year, and season 3 has already been ordered by Amazon.
