It has been 41 years in the making, and everyone involved is now officially old, but that never stopped metal! Now, Bleecker Street has premiered the first full trailer for Spinal Tap II: The End Continues.

This is the sequel to the famous mockumentary This is Spinal Tap. Rob Reiner premiered the trailer at ComiCon yesterday afternoon so now it is out in the wild.

Reiner returns to direct the film, which again follows England’s sauciest heavy metal band after the band’s manager Ian Faith (Tony Hendra) has passed away. His widow inherits a contract that says Spinal Tap owed them one more concert, and she will sue them if they don’t do it.

As a result, the band, which hasn’t spent any time together for years, are thrown back together and are forced to deal with each other as they prepare for the concert in New Orleans. David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer), and Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest) are all back.

Rumor is that they may have a vacancy for a drummer.

Reiner will reprise the role of documentary maker Marty Di Bergi. Elton John, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, and Trisha Yearwood will all appear alongside Paul Shaffer, Fran Drescher, Don Lake, John Michael Higgins, Nina Conti, Griffin Matthews, Kerry Godliman, and Chris Addison.

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues is released in cinemas on September 12th.
