Another indie trailer for you, Pig Hill. Based on a novel by Nancy Williams and directed by Kevin Lewis, best known for Willy’s Wonderland.

It looks good, but only if they lean into the camp. It’s a movie with pig children, you can’t take it that seriously. Also, Lewis’ Willy’s Wonderland was far from serious. The trailer seems to sell it as serious, though. It’s a pity that Piglet is a thing, as the Pig People look like Pigglet.

Pig Hill stars Rainey Qualley, Shane West, Shiloh Fernandez, Tammy Pescatelli, Emma Kotos, Olivia Allen, R. A. Mihailoff, and Jeff Monahan. The story is:

Carrie has been fascinated by the local legend of the pig people of Pig Hill, revolting creatures who breed and cause havoc in the area. As the tenth woman goes missing, Carrie can’t stop thinking that there could be more to these stories.

From the press release

Shot on location in Meadville, Pennsylvania — the origin of the real urban legend — Pig Hill follows Carrie (Qualley), a woman haunted by a series of unexplained disappearances.

As she investigates, she becomes entangled in the local lore of the “pig people,” uncovering a terrifying truth hidden in generations of myth. Alongside her new friend Andy (West) and her brother Chris (Fernandez), Carrie’s search for answers becomes a desperate fight for survival.

Commenting on the release, Pig Hill’s Director Kevin Lewis added, “I am so excited to premiere my film Pig Hill at FrighFest in August. The festival is one of the best genre film festivals in the world, and it is such an honour to have this punk-rock fever mind trip of a movie being shown to the most dedicated horror audiences that a filmmaker could possibly have.

It is adapted from Nancy Williams’ novel and is a poignant story of obsession, love, and the terrible consequences of what happens when reality and fantasy blur. It is a tale of the remarkable power of the mind and how it will do anything to protect itself.”

Pig Hill will have it’s world premiere at Frightfest on the 24rd of Aug.
